Charlotte Gaspard is a fashion designer, filmmaker, and writer born and raised on NYC's Lower East Side. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Film Studies and Production, specializing in Super 8 and 16mm formats. Charlotte began her costume design career at Wesleyan under the mentorship of Professor Leslie Weinberg, and has since designed and created costumes for a variety of theatrical productions and films.

In January of 2003 Charlotte founded C. Spot Designs, a Handmade Wearable Art Gear company operating out of her studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. These one-of-a-kind fashions have been sold in boutiques all around New York City; including "Work In Progress" in SoHo ( www.wipsoho.com ), "Shangri-La" in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Apollo Braun in the East Village ( www.apollobraun.com ), M Space in Williamsburg, and Anti-Mart in Bushwick, Brooklyn, which has since become Ad Hoc Arts Gallery ( www.adhocart.org ).

From February of 2003 through 2005 Charlotte was the events director and a passionate member of Brooklyn Media Lab, a multi-media arts collective ( www.brooklynmedialab.com ). BML created and sponsored numerous events showcasing new art and artists, including "Trancespace" at the Chelsea Arts Museum, "SynthCity" in the Lower East Side, Hi-Tek Soul at Galapagos in Brooklyn, and countless fundraisers and showcases at DUMBA Queer Arts Collective, which sadly lost their space in DUMBO last year after more than ten years of bringing some of the best experimental art to this city ( www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumba / www.myspace.com/dumbacollective ).

In the summer of 2007 Charlotte had the honor of participating in her first artists' residency program. Fairy-Tale Installations in association with the Quintessence Project sponsored six artists from around the globe to converge for two months in Burgundy, France to create multi-media art installations. These art shows featured everything from paintings & drawings, sculpture, video art, fashion, dance & performance, architecture, and explored the boundaries and interactions of all these mediums and forms of expression.

November of 2007 Charlotte joined the board of directors of Circle Arts, Inc. This non-profit is an artist's resource organization that provides services for artists whose work has fallen through the cracks in the usual pathway to support. Circle Arts has a twenty-two year history of producing and supporting art that is non-commercial, concerns sex or politics, or is far from the mainstream art world. ( www.circlearts.org )

Currently, Charlotte is creating custom fashion pieces, styling & costuming, and preparing a fabulous fall fashion line... So keep posted!
